Today, I'm at home because I take some time off work for few days. I spend my days cooking with my mom. So i will give you some Javanese traditional recipe for lunch.
Well, I was born in a small town in the edge of Java Island, called Muncar, This town has a harbour and many manufactures are built here especially Sardines canning and Frozen Fish. This small town located in Banyuwangi, East Java ( If you want to go to Bali by bus or ship, you will first enter Banyuwangi).
My Town produce many kind of sea product such as fish, srimp, crab, salted fish, canned fish, Lobster, Tuna, Jellyfish, seaweed, Shell,Oyster and may more. They are locally distributed or exported.

Have u ever seen mackarel fish ( in Indonesia called Lemuru) ?, well, I have a pict for you
Now, Lets Rock the fish!! :D
Ingredients :
1 kg of fresh mackarel fish, wash and remove the intestines, set aside
5 cloves garlic, minced
5 cloves small red onion, minced
6 red chilli, crushed
1 cm turmeric, minced
1 cm galangal ( Alpinia galanga), slice thinly
1/2 tsp coriander seed, crushed
3 medium size tomato
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tbsp cooking oil
basil, chopped
How to cook:
Blend all ingredient in a bowl (except oil, basil, and tomato). fry the blended inggredients in a teflon pan for 1 minute under medium heat, set aside (dont use too much oil, 1 tsbp is enough)
Springkle the sliced tomato and chopped basil on it. leave it till the water run out.
and serve with rice...
